Make Beautiful Puzzle Using Photoshop

In this tutorial, I will show you to make Beautiful Puzzle. You can make puzzle with any pictures, you can using my Puzzle Texture. You can give Drop Shadow effects to each puzzle pieces, like 3D effects.


GETTING STARTED


Tutorial Ingredients

Minimum Programs: Adobe Photoshop CS2 (In this tutorial using Photoshop CS5)

Difficulty: Normal

Duration: 20 minutes

STEP 1

Open your Photoshop.


STEP 2

Click File > Open and choose your pictures that you want make puzzle.


STEP 3

After you choosing a pictures, click CTRL + J to duplicate your pictures.

STEP 4

Then, make a new layer, click Layer > New > Layer. Give name layer 1 to “Back 1”, place it between Background layer and Layer 1. (See the pictures below)

Then still in Back1 layer, click Edit > Fill, and set the following settings, and your Back1 layer become black.

STEP 6

Click on Layer 1, choose Filter > Texture > Texturizer, when show up, click this arrow Load Texture and choose Load Texture…

Browse Puzzle.psd that you already download it, then set the following settings:

And click Ok.

Scaling use for set how big puzzle pieces that want to used.


Now, you have Beautiful Puzzle right now!

Part 1


STEP 7

Now, click Pen Tool (P) Pen Tool, and choose Path mode on Option Bar Path mode and make a pieces of puzzle (see the pictures below), choose one of pieces of puzzle. Click Zoom tool to zooming the pictures.

If finish, you should get like this… Now click CTRL + Enter, to convert a path become Shape.

STEP 9

Then, click Shift + CTRL + J to make a new layer, “Layer 2”. Layer 2 contains pieces of the puzzle that we created earlier. Now press Zoom Out to back normal view.

STEP 10

Next, press CTRL + T,

shear and rotate the puzzle piece positions, to make the puzzle pieces apart from the composition. And press Enter to finish it.

STEP 11

Now, it’s time we give puzzle pieces a Drop Shadow effects. Still in Layer 2, click Layer > Layer Style > Drop Shadow, set the following settings below:

Opacity: 60%

Angle: 120

Use Global Light: uncheck

Distance: 16

Spread: 0

Size: 16

Finale Step

Choose layer 1 and repeat step 8, 9, and 10 to make another puzzle pieces.

And you done… You have Beautiful Puzzle now… Congratulations…
